WG found a dead pigeon by the bird feeder and asked me to dispose of it. No problem, it is my job. After that was done, she reminded me that we are supposed to report dead birds. You know, West Nile virus. So I found the local web site and reported it. I figured that if they wanted to come pick the bird up, I’d hear from someone next week, long after the garbage has been picked up.
Fifteen minutes later, the phone rings and it’s the dead bird guy.
Being late on a Friday, it was too late of him to send out someone to pick up the bird for testing. But he thanked me for calling it in.
I was impressed by how fast he called me. Nice to know the local government is working well.
